Social Justice Scholarship : The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India has announced the Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC (Scheduled Caste) students for 2024-25. The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance for higher education studies so that 69 lakh Scheduled Caste students can fulfill their educational dreams.
Social Justice Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
Annual Income of Parents: As per the scheme, the annual income of the parents or guardians of the student should not exceed Rs 2.50 lakh. This shows that this scheme is for the most economically backward students.
Recognized Educational Institutions: The student should study the course in educational institutions which are recognized by the government.
Courses after Class 11: A student should take admission in some course after Class 11, so that he can pursue higher education.
Benefits of Social Justice Scholarship
Under this scheme, various types of scholarships are provided to the students:
Non-Refundable Fees: Students are not required to pay tuition fees for their courses.
Academic Allowance: Students are provided with an academic allowance ranging from Rs 2500 to Rs 13500, which provides financial assistance for their studies.
Additional Allowance for Disabled Students: Under this scheme, 10% additional allowance is provided to specially abled students to help them struggle for higher education.
